Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are lovely third grade students who are eager to learn using new innovating approaches. The students attend a Title I school, where the budget has had an impact on the resources available to them. The students live in a low-income neighborhood, where one community park has become their savior and has become their only outdoor outreach.
My students are learners with disabilities, such as learning disability, speech and language impairment, etc.
Their class setting is a self-contained classroom with a teacher and a teacher assistant. These students are entering the third grade already two or more years behind academically. These scholars are beyond ready to succeed in life.
My Project
My students will have an opportunity to enhance their learning through the use of technology. It is with great sadness that I say most of my students do not have access to a computer nor table at home.
Technology can serve as an asset to ensure that students are learning to the best of their ability.
With this opportunity my students will be able to learn in new innovative ways, rather than the traditional paper and pencil. They will be able to utilize the tablets to conduct research, use them for educational programs. As an educator, I will ensure to incorporate the use of technology as much as possible to increase student engagement.
