This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the fortunate teacher of 24 enthusiastic and inquisitive 4- and 5-year-olds. They come to school every day eager to learn. A variety of hands-on materials, such as magnetic tiles and construction tools, will enable them to use their imagination as they dress up as engineers and architects. They can let their creativity and imagination run wild, all the while thinking outside of the box!

I would love to give my students the tools they need to develop their imagination and creativity.

The manipulatives will give my students the opportunity to build, measure, create and explain their constructions during our independent choice time. They can collaborate by creating with peers as they negotiate through the building process. They will use their imagination as well as math, engineering, listening, and speaking skills and learn problem solving skills as they work together to build structures, settings, and characters. The potential for learning new skills is endless given the adequate tools and materials that can inspire these future mathematicians, engineers, and scientists!
