Students sort clothing by color, size, and type, practice matching socks, read picture labels, and even \"write\" simple laundry receipts.\r\n\r\nOne special moment that stood out was during a sorting activity. A small group of students decided to organize the clothes into \"lights\" and \"darks.\" They worked together to problem-solve when they disagreed about a gray shirt — was it light or dark? The conversation that followed was rich with vocabulary, critical thinking, and teamwork. They weren't just playing — they were practicing math skills, communication, and collaboration in a real-world context.\r\n\r\nWe've also incorporated counting activities (\"How many socks are in the basket?\"), patterning with clothespins, and early writing by having students create laundry tickets with names and numbers. The area has become a hub for hands-on literacy and math learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first revealed, the room filled with gasps and cheers! Students immediately rushed over, touching the baskets, examining the clothespins, and pretending to fold towels just like they see at home.\r\n\r\nMany of them excitedly shared, \"I help my mom do laundry!\" or \"We have a washer like this!\" It created instant connections between school and home, making learning feel personal and meaningful.\r\n\r\nEven students who are typically shy or hesitant to participate quickly joined in. The familiar, real-life theme made them feel confident and capable.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom has a space where imagination meets academic growth. Your support didn't just provide materials — it created opportunities for collaboration, confidence-building, and joyful learning.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for investing in our little learners. Your gift has made a real difference for me as a teacher and, most importantly, for the children I serve every day.\r\n\r\nBecause of Be GLAD, I felt prepared and confident walking into my classroom with tools that helped me create a safe, welcoming space where all students feel comfortable taking risks and sharing their voices. Many of my students are still learning how to express themselves, and your support allowed me to intentionally build an environment where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged to participate.\r\n\r\nThe strategies I learned through Be GLAD have completely transformed our daily learning. My students now engage in hands-on, experiential activities that make learning meaningful and joyful. They sing, talk, move, draw, and collaborate as they practice oral language, vocabulary, listening, and early literacy skills. Even my quietest students have found the confidence to speak, share ideas, and participate in ways I hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nSeeing my kindergarteners excited to learn, eager to communicate, and proud of their progress has been incredibly rewarding.
