This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our elementary art room, learning goes far beyond paint and crayons. My students use cardboard to design structures, build sculptures, and solve real-world problems—naturally blending art, math, and STEM in hands-on, meaningful ways.

With a ChompSaw cardboard cutter, students will safely measure, plan, and construct their own creations.

They will practice math skills like measuring length, understanding shapes, symmetry, fractions, and spatial reasoning. Through STEM learning, they will explore engineering concepts such as stability, balance, problem-solving, and design iteration. Art brings it all together as students express creativity, originality, and personal voice.

Currently, cutting cardboard is difficult and unsafe with traditional tools, limiting both student independence and the complexity of projects. The ChompSaw is child-safe and designed specifically for classrooms, allowing students to confidently and independently bring their ideas to life.
