Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the excitement that you had in school when you felt engaged in something you were learning and couldn't wait to learn more?
These students are curious and hardworking middle schoolers who want to learn more about themselves and the world around them.
We are positive, joyful and optimistic learners, with two classes of seventh and eighth-grade students attending a public school in a low-income community. Eighty percent of us are English Language Learners and one hundred percent of us receive free lunch in the income-based free lunch program. Our school represents a diverse array of families from many different backgrounds.
My Project
My pre-engineering class is focusing on creating strong renderings of designs through drawings and sketches. We are also building literacy skills and reading. These graphic novels will help to expose my students to new art styles through the graphic novels and also help to "hook" my engineers into good books!
Help us to engineer success this year by stocking our classroom with engaging graphic novels.
Our STEM focus allows us the opportunity to apply our learning to various design challenges this year, and these books will help to engage students in reading! These supplies will help students to achieve success in both creating artwork and building reading skills this year.
