Our students are from a rural community in the hills of eastern Kentucky. Our students receive free lunch due to a grant received by our district.
My students consist of three fifth grade classes with a total of 60 students.
I teach science and math skills in a rural/high poverty community. The new science standards require hands-on activities that can include engineering design. I always try to keep costs down for my students and their families. My students deserve the best!
In order to teach engineering at the elementary level, the students must be excited and engaged. In the most part, students haven't been exposed to the concept of engineering and design at this level.
Scientists discover and Engineers Create.
Allowing the students the ability to create allows them to play while they learn. Engineering is Elementary bundles kits are an awesome resource to aid teachers and students the ability to discover and create.
On behalf of myself and my students, I want to thank all donors in advance for the learning experience that we will soon get to experience! Thanks!
