Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My new classroom is an old bungalow so I am looking to create a welcoming learning space for my incoming second graders. The classroom floor is dreary and dull. A set of cushions will brighten up the space and offer seating for rug time activities. Flex space cushions will be a fun cozy addition to our classroom library and a flexible seating option.
Providing students with a comfortable environment to work in small group setting as we learn about the Engineering Design Process.
The most important benefit of flexible seating is that it maximizes the students' learning experience. For example, during our STEM lessons, I can have students sit in groups to plan and design buildings using Legos. I will be able to differentiate with small group instructions in different parts of the classroom. These cushions will help engage our students in their new learning environment.
