Help me give my students the ability to experience STEM Bins. STEM Bins allow students to think inventively & imaginatively, solve problems with specified constraints, build creative designs, experience hands on learning.
A small hidden gem in the heart of a busy neighborhood describes my school. My students are economically disadvantaged but academically work harder than most students their age. Our classroom is our safe haven-a place where students are guaranteed a loving teacher, a place where they can learn without hesitation, a differentiated learning approach, the freedom to be themselves, and to be safe and welcome.
For my students, our classroom is a comfort zone, a place where the magic happens.
They are not the same people in June as they are in September. They take pride in this "home away from home" learning environment, and it makes them love to come to school every day. (We often win for most days of perfect attendance!)

The challenge cards will that take structures to the next level, allowing students to improve and enhance their structures, while the literacy cards will help enhance their writing skills.
First graders come to school with no inhibitions. They are naturally curious people. These bins will allow their imaginations to go to the next level. Their first "in-school" experience will be one of exploration and creation.
