Engaging Titles for My Fourth Graders!

My students need classroom sets of some of the most intriguing, interesting and fun novels for 4th graders! We will be reading novels that will guide instruction in ELA as well as Social Studies.

My Students

My students are part of a North Carolina classroom in Vass that is filled with engaging lessons and happy faces. Our classroom is more like a family unit where we care about each other and work daily on not only academics but also making personal connections with each other.

We're a part of a rural community with a lot of military connected families.

Our classroom is made up of a variety of backgrounds that make our classroom family unit unique.

My Project

In our classroom we will use the class sets of books as novel studies to build experiences and connections with each other and the world. We will use the texts to discuss ELA and Social Studies standards as well as build our knowledge on new worldly happenings from a different vantage point.

Students will get the opportunity to connect their lives to those of the characters in the text.

We will use close reading strategies to make our way through the chapters while discussing important points of the text. Students will also gain independent reading time with the different novels.
