My students need interactive games to make learning fun!
One of the most important factors in student's learning is engagement and kids love to learn through games.
The students in my classroom are in grades kindergarten through 3rd grade. They have a range of disabilities, which I view as making our classroom that much more fun! I also service students in the general education classrooms that need extra support. All of these students are no different than any other kids- they have unique needs that require some supplemental materials to make them successful in the classroom.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for considering to help the students in my classroom.
I truly believe in every single one of my students. I wake up everyday of the week asking myself if I would want to be a student in my classroom. My goal is to make every single one of my students feel safe and successful. By having these materials, I hope to achieve my goal.
My Project
Studies show that one of the leading factors in learning is engagement. Students who are excited and participating members of the activity are much more likely to learn the content. This project includes hands on games for the following concepts: time, money, and alphabet recognition and sounds. My students will play these games during math or language arts stations. They won't even know they are learning since they are playing games.!
Once a week, we will games like Pete the Cat, Learn to Code, and Slot-a- Builders during our social skills block.
During this time, we practice taking turns, asking questions , as well as a variety of other social skills during this time.
We will use the squiggle wiggle writer pens in our sensory baskets. Our students are provided opportunities to use an item from the basket throughout the day for a quick break. The wiggle pens will give our student's sensory system the reset they need to maintain focus. We will use the stability cushion for student's who need sensory input during the day to increase focus. The earmuff will be used for student's who are sensitive to sound and/or who struggle with focusing with noise in the classroom.
