This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I want my classroom to feel safe for my students. Some of my students come from poverty-stricken homes. They need books and teachers to help the world come alive to them through reading.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” ― Nelson Mandela.
My students are living in a high poverty area with a free lunch program. Despite the struggles that some of these students go through, they are eager to learn and always ready to try new things! They desire to have people believe and invest in their lives!
My Project
I am asking for gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers. Teachers Pay Teachers is a teaching website where teachers sell their previously made materials to help other teachers create wonderful, engaging lessons for their students. Teachers search for the lesson they are preparing to teach and have a variety of instructional resources right at their fingertips that they are able to purchase and then use in the classroom! These lessons have been rated and reviewed so that teachers have an idea of how the resources will help their students. I would like to use this gift to buy more engaging lessons for project-based learning, reading ideas, and math manipulative stations.
