This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to learn! They love to move and are excited to find out about our world. They are inquisitive and have many interests that continue to push their thinking. As a class, we work on encouraging each other to focus on our strengths which in turn builds confidence in all that we do.
About 53% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.
We live in a suburb of Detroit. I have five special education students and others who are below grade level. In our classroom we learn, laugh, and love!
My Project
Developing financial literacy is crucial for kids to be able to function in our society. Making change is a skill students need. Through playing games, students will develop the skills they need to make change and multiply sale prices. My students love to learn through play. By providing them games and a table they can write on, they will be able to enjoy their learning while developing essential skills for everyday life.
I aim to create an environment that will captivate less motivated students.
The table will provide a surface through which I can engage students using dry erase markers. This adds a sense of excitement to normal activities. Your donations will help inspire mathematicians and create students who are able to be smart about their finances.
