My Students
Entering middle school as a 6th grader can be both an exciting and daunting experience. It's a time when my students begin to uncover their passions, gain independence, develop their voice, and start forming their true identities through their interactions, readings, and discussions in English and ancient history.
My students encompass a sweet sense of innocence and wonder, craving knowledge and new experiences, while seeking guidance and feedback, from me as their teacher.
Together, our diverse classroom becomes their foundation for secondary education.
My Project
For the very first time, my students have a completely unique learning experience with both an online English curriculum, and interactive components of our new history curriculum.
However, we are lacking a key tool in our classroom that will help bridge their individual learning experiences, with a more collaborative, engaging environment supported by technology.
An iPad will allow me to fully immerse myself in the facilitation of literature and history content, by teaching reading and writing strategies, incorporating video links or current events, while providing immediate feedback and individualized attention to students as I move freely about the classroom instead of being stuck at the front of the room.
