This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in the early years of learning need to develop skills that will help them as they become life long learners. With this project students will be able to develop their core strength to help them sit, stay attentive, and engage more minutes throughout their day at school. Being able to bring students outdoors to build these skills will reinforce the learning that goes on inside the classroom.
Gross motor skills are an important part of the mind and body of all ages.
Allowing child to use their imagination to walk across hot lava using a balance beam not only activates creativity but helps core muscles balance. Catching and kicking balls will help students track and will ultimately help with pre-writing skills. These gross motor tools can be used outside /inside to involve, engage, and empower student to be successful learners. As students start building these skills, they will be crucial in a school readiness program will help as they move on to school aged classrooms as play becomes less.
