This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are made up of many exceptional and diverse 3-5 year old's. Some of them considered typically developing children-very talkative with speech errors, non verbal children, ESL children, and kiddos who are deaf and hard of hearing. It is always such a fun and never dull work environment. That being said, staff here at the preschool always strive to find a way to go above and beyond to acquire the necessary tools for our student's success. Preschool is such a fundamental time of their lives that they require all the help and variety of teaching styles of learning they can receive.

As children growing up in this century and within a low income household, they need to be introduced to the variety of tools we can offer!

My Project

These books will continue to help increase the print rich therapy lessons that I strive to have everyday. In every inclusive therapy lesson I start off by reading a story. The books always centered to the theme of the lesson. Lack of supplies have prevented the continued use of books. But with your help, I hope to increase their love for reading. Books are such a great way of learning. SO grand that they help address a wide range of goals, including articulation, pragmatics, semantics, comprehension, etc.. After reading and doing activities aimed towards their specific goals, we always like to wrap it up with a fun interactive game! (Structured) 1.Reading, 2. goal aim activity, and 3. Fun game to generalize skills.

Through books they can begin to generalize skills learned in reading to other settings.

My little preschoolers are on their way to learning pre-reading skills. By starting each lesson with a book, I am showing them a love for reading- while increasing those other skills! My student have already shown so much interest with reading and with these books I hope to further their love and experience with printed words.
