Engaging Preschoolers in STEM!

My Project

Exposing children to STEM at a young age supports their overall academic growth and develops early thinking and reasoning skills. The life skills children develop when learning STEM help make them better problem solvers and learners. Through STEM activities, preschoolers learn the Four Cs: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

An IO Blocks Center will give my students the opportunities they need to engage in physics exploration and STEM builds with gears, slides, and blocks.

The Block Center also comes with people, flags, cows, and pinwheels which will encourage pretend and creative play. The grid-style table surface will stabilize the builds the students create. Students will develop social-emotional and collaboration skills as they work together to create new builds. Communication and critical thinking skills will improve as students create each new build.
