Engaging Independent Centers

My students need independent learning centers to build on their reading skills such as a book set, a plethora of magnetic letters and blends, the sentence starter magnetic set and a comprehension board game.

My Students

Do you remember your favorite part of elementary school? You probably remember working with your peers in small groups, working for a common goal. My goal for my students is to become independent learners and to build character traits through working as a team.

My group of 22 students is fun, loving, and full of life!

They love to learn and look forward to coming to school. For them, school is a place where they don't have to worry. Our school is considered high poverty and has 70% free and reduced rate lunch. Our school is a great school for our students. Our school philosophy makes leaders of the future. We believe it starts from the first day a student steps foot in our school. Leadership is instilled in our students starting in Pre-K. We believe in our students and encourage them to be the leaders of the future.

My Project

These students deserve these new materials to help build their future. Students will be able to experiment with building words, which builds their vocabulary base by using the book set, a plethora of magnetic letters and blends, the sentence starter magnetic set and a comprehension board game. These materials will build on our Daily 5 centers through Read to Self, Word Work, Work on Writing and so much more!

Help my class, as they learn to build independence, life skills, and vocabulary building.

My students love this time of our day, where they can choose which station they want to go to and work with their peers. They love to help each other and are compassionate towards their friends. These materials will bring them together and also build a wonderful, happy community.
