Many of my students come to school carrying big responsibilities and sometimes even bigger worries, and having consistent access to nutritious snacks has made an immediate difference. Now, our snack bin has become part of our daily routine — students independently choose a snack, return to their seats, and settle into learning feeling cared for and ready to try their best.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when students first saw the shelves filled was unforgettable. They gasped, smiled, and immediately began talking about which snacks they were hoping to try first. It created an instant sense of comfort and belonging, and students now remind one another to grab a snack before tests, reading groups, and long writing blocks. Beyond meeting a basic need, this project has helped build independence, responsibility, and a stronger sense of classroom community.\r\n\r\nAs we continue learning, students are using this extra support to stay focused during longer learning blocks, tackle challenging texts, and engage more confidently in small-group instruction. Your kindness is helping remove barriers so my students can show what they are truly capable of, and we are deeply grateful for the difference you are making every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1760399794056,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-their-learning/9666494/","projectTitle":"Fuel Their Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Robinette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1499161_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756584023507","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/candacerobinette"},{"teacherId":9886504,"projectId":9289500,"letterContent":"I cannot even describe how amazing these gifts have been for my classroom. I see kindergarten through 6th graders and all of them have been so excited and curious about it all. \r\n\r\nWith the fish tank, I did my research to set the tank up with real plants, plus the ones on top. I was able to share my journey with my students, teaching them about habitats and properly caring for living things. I would tell them I dont want our fish to just survive, I want him to thrive and be happy. \r\n\r\nEvery day they'd ask me when we would get the fish and I would tell them the pH levels were still off, my big kids would help me test. When it was finally right, I got us a red, male betta. The kids were in love. They have all been so respectful and kind to our new friend. \r\n\r\nI told them what I've learned about bettas, that they're from Thailand and adapted to be able to take small breaths of air. The kids love watching to catch him taking a quick breath. They also look for his bubble nests, a sign he is happy. \r\n\r\nMy anxious students love to come and sit by his tank and watch him swim. He has such a calming presence in our class. \r\n\r\nThe hydroponic garden also has been a massive hit. We are growing lettuce and will feed it to a bunny that one of our teachers has as a pet. The kids all thought it was cool that it doesn't need any soil. We were able to discuss what plants need to grow, going right along with my lessons. Its so helpful for them to be able to experience it in real life. They are always happy to come check and see how our lettuce is growing. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your kindness and generosity, it means so much for you to help a group of kids that you haven't even met.
