My Project

Keeping my students with special needs engaged and providing a learning environment that is predictable for them is a priority. By providing educational materials and activities that meet the interests of my students, I will be able to keep my students engaged and assist them in developing to their full potential. Over the course of the school year, my students have learned how to complete their task drawers and sit independently during morning circle. This is a big deal and my students are proud of what they have learned. The items requested will assist me in providing the hands-on academic tasks needed for my students to continue making progress.

An educational environment with engaging and hands-on activities is critical for students with special needs.

The carpet spots will ensure that each child knows where to sit during morning circle. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will enable me to purchase more task box resources to promote independent task completion, along with reinforcing academic and social/emotional concepts that have been taught. The magnetic strips and sticky back velcro will be used to complete the task boxes. All of these materials will make it possible for me to create task boxes tailored to the academic content taught and to create a learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child.
