My Project
What I love most about my students is their curiosity towards learning. They all want to participate, answer and ask questions during our group discussions; it is so exciting to see. What is special about my group of kiddos is that they are all their own people. Even at this young age, they are more inclined to follow their own thought processes rather than follow the next friend. This also shows in the way that they learn. A majority of my students can grasp the concepts of the curriculum in our large group lessons. I have a handful of kiddos who need a more focused, hands-on approach.
These materials will help me to create more interactive and engaging center activities, as well as thought provoking small group lessons.
My students also really enjoy books and they love to read during their free time. I would love to create a comfortable space for them to read in, other than at their tables. The Legos are a great math tool, as well as a means for the students to work collectively on a fun activity. I am a first year teacher and anything given will help tremendously towards making my classroom the nurturing learning environment that I hope and wish for it to be for years to come.
