My Students

I am teaching a 1st grade class in Kodiak, Alaska. My kiddos are energetic, hands on, imaginative and continually seeking new experiences.

These kiddos need movement-oriented, motivating and engaging work in order to create the best learning environment.

They work well together in groups sharing materials and helping one and another. I love to provide them opportunities to be social throughout the day and share ideas with one and another. Morning tubs create this scenario when students are able to create collaboratively with their peers.

My Project

This year I would love to create engaging morning work tubs for my kiddos. I want kiddos to come into my class in the morning and be able to seamlessly get started on motivating and interesting morning work that they want to participate in.

Students will start their day from the get go with the opportunity to explore materials, use their imagination, interact with hands on materials, and make mistakes while interacting with their peers!

In my class I try to provide opportunities for choice when I can, and morning tubs will be another way to do this perfectly. Students will be able to choose what interests them and take ownership for their own learning.
