This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the future of America, and I remind them of that every single day. The neighborhoods my students live in don't have the greatest support. At school,​ I strive to let them know they always have me in their corner and a classroom full of friends backing them up.

My class is full of dreamers and together we can make their dreams come true.

They are such wondrous students with so many interests. When you ask them what they want to be when they grow up their answers range from "a teacher" to "a chef." They don't see their shortcomings, or how expensive college is. They see a bright future with no limitations.

My Project

My students' educational path has never been "normal." The world shut down for them during Kindergarten, forcing them online. In first grade, they were either in person with masks on and sitting six feet from their closest neighbor, or online at home again.

This year is my students' first real year of school, and I am determined to get them as far as I can in this time.

I am confident that using individual whiteboards and dry erase markers will help them solidify the concepts I am teaching. They can practice by either solving an equation I give them on the board, or by writing their spelling words in new and creative ways.
