My Students

My school is simply amazing! I am a first-year first-grade teacher and my students are incredible 6 & 7-year-old kiddos who are just the sweetest! I love how optimistic they are every day when arriving at school. I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment with a caring classroom community. Since we are a newer school, we just don't have many extra resources or manipulatives for teachers to use in their classrooms.

First graders crave and deserve hands-on experiences that help instill their love of learning through their creativity.

My Project

First graders need an engaging way to start their day! I plan on using these materials for "Good Morning Bins." I want students to use their creativity and energy in a positive way in the morning. Students will come into the classroom, put their things away, and grab a bin to share with a partner. They will then work together to create while I take attendance.

These materials will also double as manipulatives that can be used during literacy and math stations.

I purposefully chose manipulatives that students can also learn from while having fun and working with others. These bins will promote collaborative learning within my classroom. I will rotate through the materials to ensure that children are provided with an engaging experience.
