This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in a school that has 100% free breakfast and lunch. My students come from low-income families that live in subsidized housing, which means the parents' rent is based on their income.
Students come to school without having the necessary supplies they need.
My students will greatly benefit from these supplies. No student should feel inadequate or embarrassed just because they cannot get the basic supplies needed for school. Regardless of their income, my students come to school ready to learn. They work hard to try and make a better life for themselves.
My Project
These basic school supplies will benefit all of my students so they can be successful in school. These supplies will be used to engage students based on their style of learning. I will use these materials in the areas of science and math that will allow students to not only use their artistic abilities (paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, markers) but to be engaged in the lessons to show mastery of content.
By using the Wireless Eggspert, my students will be actively engaged in the lessons.
In Science, I can display questions on the Smartboard, and using the Eggspert would allow all my students to participate in answering the questions in a fun, competitive, and exciting way. The goal and outcome of using the Eggspert is to engage all students in the lessons.
I want to ensure that students take responsibility for their learning. The task chair will be used when students "become the teacher". Students learn from their peers so I would like to give students the opportunity to be the teacher. This will make the students feel confident, successful and to become leaders within the classroom.
