Help me give my students these at home family engagement packs that will allow hands on activities for families to work on and learn together many of the essential skills they will need.
I teach in an area where we have many low income students. Many of our incoming kindergarten students are coming to school never having attended a preschool before. This starts the year with a challenge and I want to have the resources available to help fill in these gaps of their learning. Parents work outside of the home and are feeling the strain of the Covid pandemic for sure!!
My Project
This year we can definitely see the strain of what the Covid pandemic has done to our students! We more than ever before have students coming to kindergarten not having attended a preschool at all. For this reason I feel it is more important than ever to connect school and home. These at home family engagement packs will allow us to send home hands on activities for families to work on and learn together many of the essential skills they will need to learn in Kindergarten. More leveled library books will also be send home for families to practice and read together.
