My Project

My students struggle academically, specifically when it pertains to reading. This year, my focus was to have every student reading! I have found that graphic novels have specifically put a book in students' hands, for students who prefer not to read. The blue bins are to help organize the library classroom, for ease of finding the "right fit" book for every student.

Continuing on increasing students focus and engagement within reading, Alan Gratz has been a favorite author for my fifth graders.

His historical fiction depicts current events. We have used these books as a read aloud. Encouraging open conversations and dialogue. Overall, I am looking to continue to establish my existing library for the students. Flexible seating enhances the reading experience. Overall, my number one goal is for my students to be actively engaged in reading.
