Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year, I am so thrilled that to have the honor of teaching math and science to an incredible group of 6th graders! These are my two favorite subjects and I just love this age group!
Our school has a spectacular staff and incredible community support!
Even though we are located in a low socioeconomic area, it is clear that parents want the best for their children by their active involvement. All of our students receive free breakfast and over 80% receive free lunch. My students face many daily challenges, but they always come to school with dazzling smiles, ready to have fun learning!
My Project
My students need two replacement yoga balls for our flexible seating chairs. Unfortunately, they were damaged this week. We also need an extra baseball task chair as one of them was accidentally broken last week. These seating options make science and math activities more manageable and engaging.
Additionally, we need yellow ink for our classroom printer.
My student love to work when their assignment has been printed in color! However, we tend to go through the yellow faster than anything! Right now, my 6th graders are creating their own water cycle board games. They send me pictures and questions to print in color so that their boards are more attractive. They are loving this colorful assignment and they are learning so much!
