These came as we were heading into the final stretch of the school year when the students needed a boost so they could finish rhe year strong. They had to earn their pendant by reading and taking A. R. quizzes on at least 50 books at their level during the 4th quarter. 85% of my students earned their pendant.\r\nWith the yarn they made crochet chains, braids and cords. These will be used to weave through the chair frame so that project will be ongoing into the 2025-2026 school year. As well as the new skills they were learning this promoted patience, cooperation and comradery as they work together. They loved getting started on working with the looms and 1 student completed the adorable beanie for her stuffed animal.\r\nYour gift already provided much skill development and satisfaction with many more hours to come.","fullyFundedDate":1742309367180,"projectUrl":"project/yarn-supplies-and-tools-for-skill-devel/9147544/","projectTitle":"Yarn, Supplies and Tools for Skill Development and Motivational Incentives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Long","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8923155_orig.jpg?crop=670,670,x0,y156&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673417624899","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8923155"},{"teacherId":8923155,"projectId":8840392,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution that added lower level books to my classroom library. This year 52% of my students' independent reading level started out between 0.7 and 2.5 ( grade equivalent of K and mid. 2nd grade ). If a student practices reading consistently at their level they will make progress, regardless of the level that they started from. In addition to their reading instruction in class they must be reading independently at home and to that end we need to provide these resources that they can take home each night. My students are held accountable for their HW reading by having to complete a quiz the next day. They must earn 80% or higher for it to count towards their Reading Challenge score. Because my students' reading levels are far outside the middle school reading range our school library does not cater to their reading needs. Our classroom paraeducator and I have built a substantial clasroom library over the past 2 years. However, the majority of our books were not in the 0.7 to 2.5 range. This is why YOUR DONATION that purchased the purple and blue coded books are such a valuable addition to our classroom library. \r\nWe involve our students in classifying and preparing the books to make them ready for shelving. This gives our students a feeling of ownership over their classroom library. \r\nI thank all of you most sincerely for donating so we can now provide a wider selection of books to serve the needs of the lower level readers in our classes.","fullyFundedDate":1733228762251,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-my-students-reading-at-the-low/8840392/","projectTitle":"Books for My Students Reading at the Lowest Levels","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Long","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8923155_orig.jpg?crop=670,670,x0,y156&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673417624899","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8923155"},{"teacherId":8923155,"projectId":8526147,"letterContent":"All of my History students have a mild to moderate disability. One of the challenges that I am always troubleshooting is how to be most effective in my teaching. I have to use multiple modalities to promote understanding, learning and retention. \r\nIt was very exciting thanks to your donation I was able to add the tactile and concrete application of representing their learning using a clay representation\r\n Being able to offer them this option was both motivating for them to work harder at the information learning part of the lessons also. The attached photos represent 2 of of clay expressions of their learning. Following our studies of The Ancient Americas, they made a pendant depicting symbols of aspects of Native American life that were essential to their survival. Following our study of Ancient Egypt, Kush and African civilizations they made a paper weight representing the Rosetta Stone and they etched one of their names in Hieroglyphics.\r\nThank you for enhancing my History program for my Middle School students.","fullyFundedDate":1727382429872,"projectUrl":"project/help-history-come-alive-with-hands-on-sc/8526147/","projectTitle":"Help History Come Alive With Hands-On Sculpting With Clay","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Long","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8923155_orig.jpg?crop=670,670,x0,y156&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673417624899","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8923155"},{"teacherId":9480544,"projectId":8621031,"letterContent":"My students have greatly enjoyed the supplies generously donated for our STEM projects!
