My school has a strong sense of pride and community. We strive to make our school a place in which the students can acquire a variety of educational experiences that they may not get otherwise. This is an impressionable age to begin teaching lifelong skills.
My students are passionate and love learning.
I want to make sure my students get the tools they need in order to learn essential skills that will eventually allow them to become life long learners.
With careers opportunities rapidly changing, many of the skills my students are needing to learn are very different from what their family members may be familiar with. The hands-on STEM and coding supplies from this project will allow my students to bring home materials and tools to complete fun and engaging tasks with their families. Together they can learn to code with the Dash Robot, design and build their own Rube Goldberg Machines with things like dominoes, Keva Contraptions planks, and marbles, all while working on critical communication skills together.
Connecting families to the learning that takes place in the classroom not only helps engage everyone, but it also builds an overall value of education.
As Ronald Reagan said "Families stand at the center of our society. And every family has a personal stake in promoting excellence in education." This project will help provide great resources to families that will promote this very thing!
