My Students

Every day my students arrive ready to engage to learn. They want to be successful however they can, despite the challenges they continue to face in this pandemic.

My students come to school, to our classroom not only to learn but for love and much needed care and attention.

Our class is made up of refugees, minorities, students with special needs, and English language learners. Every day we work to build hope and to learn skills needed to overcome challenges and exceed expectations. Many are juggling responsibilities far above what should be expected at their age, and they deserve to feel safe and comfortable at school where they spend most of their time. They have the power and potential to be leaders and we strive daily to prepare them to be those leaders.

My Project

Students are using technology far more today than in the past because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of my students still don't have headphones to use with their school-provided devices. These headphones are nicer quality and more comfortable and have microphones which enable students to record videos easier for more engaging class activities. The requested earbuds would enable me to provide a resource for students who need headphones to use for at home learning.

Flexible seating and sensory tools will help students focus in a comfortable and safe way throughout the day while distracting from the stresses of the ongoing Covid-10 pandemic.

Highly engaging reading and language games will provide students of all academic abilities with fun opportunities to build up skills that may have gaps due to the challenges of these past few years.
