Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love P.E. We don't have much P.E. equipment available to use, but beanbags and playground balls would take exercise to a new and more exciting level. I would also love a ball pump to help keep these balls inflated and to pump up the balls that the kids bring from home.

My students are wonderful, energetic second graders!

My school is in a low income, high immigrant community. Most of my students are English learners. I have several students with learning disabilities, and I also have several deaf and hard of hearing students who are mainstreamed into my all inclusive classrooms. Most of my students live in crowded apartment complexes near our school. Many of these families do not allow their children to play outside after school so my students often do not get much physical exercise outside of school.

My Project

I love teaching P.E. with my students, but I don't have any playground balls or beanbags for my students to use. The playground balls, the basketballs, and the beanbags would be a great way for my class to improve their coordination and teamwork skills while getting exercise and having a great time during our P.E. time. There are many great P.E. games I'd love to teach my students. In addition, the balls could also be used by the students during recess which would be wonderful for my students. The ball pump will be used to keep the classroom balls inflated, but it will also be a great benefit for the students who bring balls from home that need to be inflated.

I would love to receive donations to fund this project.

It will allow my students to get a lot of fun, physical exercise. This will also help my students with their coordination and help them learn cooperation skills. I think the best benefit of this project will be that my students will be staying active and healthy and that will help them in everything they do at school!
