My Students

As a media specialist in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students face many challenges each and every day. Many of them don't have the chance to make things on their own.

I would like to foster creativity in students.

I am providing students with Makerspaces in my libraries with hopes they will feel free to create and invent something that won't be graded or judged.

Makerspaces helps kids learn in a non-traditional way, but in a way that motivates them.

My Project

Students at my school have the opportunity to explore their creativity during Makerspaces. They are very excited to come to the library and make something that usually has a challenge attached to it.

My students love the opportunity to make things with no barriers.

The Keva planks and Legos will give them more resources to build and explore the engineers inside of them.

My students are from low-income areas. Most students don't have these items at their homes and will benefit from using them at school.

I can't wait to see what wonderful creations my students can make with these items!
