This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students enjoy chewing gum or eating chewy candy during tests to release some anxiety, as well as to receive an endorphin boost. As we approach the end of the school year and students are tested in reading and math, their anxiety increases. We are planning on brain break activities, as well as healthy snacks to maintain their energy levels high during this period of time.
Studies show that chewing gum stimulates the jaw muscles and releases endorphins, which can promote alertness and cognitive function.
This can enhance memory and recall by increasing blood flow to the brain and stimulating the release of neurotransmitters involved in learning and memory. Physical activity enhances test performance by reducing stress and anxiety, improving focus and memory, and boosting overall mental and physical well-being.
My 7th graders have been working diligently to learn about ratios, proportions, equations, graphs, angles, integers, along with reading fables, poems, scientific and historical articles. They want to do well in school and tests. Your support will show them that there is a village behind them who believe they will be able to demonstrate great growth.
