Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's almost the end of the school year and to celebrate all that my students have learned this year, I would like to have a last week of school STEM celebration.

There are so many STEM challenges my students can complete using bubbles, chalk, beach balls and more.

Bubble Challenge: Bubbles will help children develop an awareness of form, shape, and texture. Exploring with bubbles will encourage scientific thinking, questioning, and experimentation. My students will play with bubbles and notice their shapes and sizes. They will also compete to make the largest bubble and challenge themselves to pass the bubble in a relay race.

Chalk Challenge: Chalk will promote creativity, help to develop fine motor skills, and will enhance learning by making it more interactive. My students will trace their shadows, using chalk, to learn about shadow science while also expressing themselves.

Beach Ball Challenge: Students will work in groups to build a tower that will be at least twelve inches tall and the beach ball must be able to balance on top of the tower.

The drawstring bag will help each student organize their STEM items in one, easy to access, location.
