Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is considered a Title I school. Many of the children live in low-income housing and hotels, and some are in shelters. For some, English is their second language and many have experienced traumatic experiences that most of us can hardly comprehend. Every student at our school qualifies for free breakfast and free lunch. All of my students have complex communication needs and some require adapted materials to communicate more functionally.
These materials will be used to celebrate students who have worked very hard on their speech and language goals all year long.
The snacks will be used during their final session as a reward and a way to celebrate together. The fidgets, straws and stickers will be used as a prize for their hard work this school year.
