This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the school year comes to a close, students struggle with burnout and a lack of motivation. Once students finish the STAAR exam, I get asked the question daily: Why are we still doing work?

The best way to motivate students is to make the learning relevant to them.

For this reason, I will be teaching a unit on "life lessons" like how to budget, why sleep is important, etc. To make them even more engaged, I will be gamifying the unit and providing prizes to the hardest-working students.

I hope that students are excited to be learning every day in my class. The lessons will be so fun that students don't even feel like it's "real school."
