Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The items in this project are meant to get us through the last few weeks of school! We are celebrating sea animals after state testing, and I would love to give students books that are accessible to relate to the topics we will be covering. I have several newcomers and bilingual students in class, so having texts that involve both languages will help them to connect to the topics equitably.
Our main focus in May is connection and preparing for middle school.
We are going to do this by diving into research and keeping things interesting! The snacks, erasers, pencils, and miniature notebooks will be used during our research week to take notes about each animal and draw a picture of it, as well as just to keep our minds and bodies interested in what we are doing!
