This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The pandemic has forced NYC schools to be remote. We have had students who are hybrid, coming to school 2 days per week and every other Wednesday and the second group of students come at the end of the week. My students live in Williamsburg and are a diverse group of learners. I love how excited they are when they come into the class. They love to learn and can be silly at times. One of their favorite activity is to tell the class riddles or jokes!
My Project
My students have had a difficult year both academically and socially and emotionally. This project will give them a chance to interact and celebrate a milestone before they leave their friends and head off to their next academic adventure.
Now that we are preparing for the end of the year, students are restless and are looking forward to having opportunities to interact with each other and teachers.
This celebration will bring the entire year to a close so that students can leave the school and our class on a positive note.
