Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second-year teacher this year. It has always been my dream to have my very own classroom. I have been in education for nine years. I am excited to make a difference in my students’ lives. Nearly all of my students are from low-income households and are transported to my school from all parts of the school district.
My students are 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
They work diligently to overcome the challenges of their disabilities and strive to be their best. I know they will challenge me, but I am excited to find ways to help them. I know teaching multiple grade levels to students, who are at, below, and above grade level will be demanding and rewarding at the same time.
People say "It takes a village...," and I have learned that it truly takes a village in order to meet the needs of every student in my classroom. For this reason, I do my best to be creative to provide them what they need. I want to make our classroom a positive, safe, clean, and inviting space and a space where they feel happy and want to come to class each day.
My Project
Help me provide a great send off bag for my students. I would like to send my kids off with a bag and tumbler filled with their favorite snacks for they summer vacation. It has been a different kind of year, I would like them to know that they will still be on our minds even if we don't see each other every day. My students are motivated to do their work and have good behavior when they know they are getting something in return. This will give them some of their snacks to stay motivated at home.
