My students need a CD player with bluetooth capabilities, trays to hold art and science materials, a scale to weigh materials, magnets and dough tools, and blocks to explore!
I am beginning a new mid year adventure! I will be opening up a brand new classroom for kids just turning three years old with special needs. The students start just a few weeks shy of their third birthday. This is there very first classroom experience! We are an inclusive bunch- our own school family where everyone's strengths are honored and we help each other grow in the areas we are not as strong in. My students are smart, kind, and unique! We all are working on communication and social relationships as well as academic progress. Being a part of our classroom family has everyone growing in leaps and bounds.
My Project
The CD player with Bluetooth capabilities will allow us to stream music of all types, including classical and from other cultures that we don't have CDs for and expand our exploration of rhythm and dance.
The magnatiles, magnet wand set, scale, and dough tools will allow these blossoming minds to create their own experiments, hypothesize and test out the results!
With these tools children can create questions and work together to solve out the answers. I just love when children find magnet wands for the first time, and can't figure out why one side sticks if you turn it the other way it pushes away. Curiosity and exploration allow us to learn more in depth about the world around us.
Lastly, the trays give us the space definition needed for messier science and art experiments! And the folders are for home-school communication!
