This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some of my students don't have books at home to read. I have been using my own money to build a good classroom library with a variety of books including classics, award-wining titles, favorite authors, and non-fiction. I need a way to display all of these books!

I have a wonderful class of fifth graders.

They have a terrific sense of humor and most of them like to read. They are very interested in finding new authors, new series of books, and reading historical and non-fiction books. They have a daily homework assignment to read and then write about what they read.

My Project

This book stand will help the students find books they are interested in. I can display all of the wonderful books I have been buying. It will make it easier to showcase certain books and also for the students to find certain books. We will have a check out system so that everyone can enjoy the books in our classroom library.

I love reading.

I read to relax, for enjoyment, and to learn. I want to instill this love in my students. Having a good classroom library that is displayed in an appealing way will help my students love to read also.
