Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I currently teach at a Title I, high poverty school. However, my students are rich in creativity, grit, and perseverance. My students are hard working and driven. They enjoy working with technology and would benefit from having a class set of headphones so each person could work independently on assignments. We use a lot of different software programs to reach today's students and make the lessons more engaging. Having a desktop will allow students access to technology who tend to have issues with their Chromebooks. We use technology on a daily basis. The students also participate in D.E.A.R time (Drop Everything And Read). They love having comfortable seating to sit and read a book of their choosing.
