Empowering Young Minds Through Screen-Free Storytelling with the Yoto Player

Help me give my students a love of learning and creativity by funding a Yoto Player! This screen-free device encourages literacy, imagination, and independence, providing students with engaging, hands-on educational experiences.

My Project

I love my students' curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. The Yoto Player, cards and hands on learning activities will foster their love for reading and learning by offering a screen-free way to explore stories and music. This will support their literacy skills, comprehension, and imagination, while also promoting independent learning. By providing a hands-on, interactive experience, the Yoto Player, cards and games encourages students to engage with content at their own pace, helping them grow as confident, motivated learners. Our district is focusing on Personalized Competency Based Learning and these materials would help jump start student voice and choice. Students thrive when given the choice to engage in hands-on learning, which helps them connect with new ideas in meaningful ways.

The goals for this project are to:

Foster a love of reading by providing a screen-free, engaging way for students to access stories and music and a love of learning.

Support literacy development through listening comprehension and exposure to diverse genres.

Encourage hands-on, independent learning by allowing students to control their content and pace.

Enhance creativity and imagination through immersive storytelling experiences.

Promote social-emotional growth by offering content that fosters empathy, problem-solving, and collaboration.

This project will empower students to explore new concepts while developing crucial literacy and life skills.

The Yoto Player, cards, and hand on learning games will strengthen reading scores by providing students with interactive, engaging content that reinforces key skills. Listening to stories and reading words that are made with hands on materials will improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking, which are essential for excelling in literacy assessments.
