Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Watching my 4th grade students get excited about coding when they thought they weren’t interested is such a joy.

Every week, my class participates in an “Hour of Code” on their chromebooks.

These microbits & cars will allow more engagement beyond the computer screen and make coding come to life.

As educators, we are committed to providing our students with the skills and tools they need to thrive in the digital age. In today’s world, coding literacy is becoming increasingly essential, and introducing it at an early age can significantly impact a child’s future opportunities.

Microbits are small, affordable, and versatile programmable computers that offer a hands-on learning experience for students. With built-in sensors, LED lights, and buttons, Microbits provide an excellent platform for exploring coding concepts in a fun and engaging way. By integrating Microbits into the curriculum, I aim to enhance my students’ problem-solving skills, creativity, and computational thinking abilities.

My Microbit Coding Initiative is aimed at igniting a passion for coding and technology among my students.
