It was an incredibly engaging and inspiring experience that sparked my students' curiosity and deepened their understanding of coding and engineering concepts. \r\n\r\nThrough hands-on activities with the Micro:bit, I was able to teach over 100 third through fifth grade students how to code and bring their ideas to life using the kits we received. Whether it was programming lights, making music with a banana as a keyboard, building sensors, or designing simple projects, each challenge helped the students grow more confident in problem-solving and creativity. Highlights from the students include the building of robots, programming of video game controllers, building safe animal crossing bridges, learning about safe seaweed farming, building a device to measure water temperatures, and building wind turbines. We hope you enjoy the photos and understand the impact of your donation.\r\n\r\nThank you for providing us with the tools to make this learning journey both educational and fun. This experience has allowed me to build my collection of coding materials so we can continue exploring technology and engineering for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1739391735373,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-coding-with-microbits-enginee/9006948/","projectTitle":"Exploring Coding With Micro:bits Engineering","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Battista","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1061530_orig.jpg?crop=146,146,x12,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733959067200","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/battista"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30639","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":582,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":51,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":30639,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Windrows Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Windrows Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/etiwanda-school-district/windrows-elementary-school/30639"}
