My Project

Empowering Literacy through Graphic Novels aims to enhance literacy skills and foster a love for reading among 3rd to 5th-grade elementary students, specifically targeting those from diverse backgrounds, including military families and students receiving free lunch support, by providing access to a diverse collection of graphic novels.

Empowering Literacy through Graphic Novels' primary focus is to enrich reading experiences by promoting student choice.

Graphic novels have proven to be an effective tool in engaging reluctant readers, catering to different learning styles, and promoting visual literacy, making them an excellent resource for diverse student populations.

Student-selected graphic novels spark interest and enthusiasm for reading among grade-level peers. Students enjoy reading Minecraft Volume 1, Dogman Grime and Punishment, and My Weird School Graphic Novels.

This request plans to leverage the unique appeal of graphic novels to empower diverse elementary students in developing their literacy skills, nurturing a love for reading, and bridging cultural and socioeconomic gaps in accessing quality reading materials.
