My Project

By bringing Vernier energy sensors and variable load equipment into my high school science classes, I aim to create a more hands-on learning environment where we can dive into physics and environmental science in a practical way. With these tools, we'll get to explore different types of energy, like mechanical, electrical, thermal, and light energy, and see how they work in real-life situations. Through hands-on activities and experiments, we'll form hypotheses, run tests, collect data, and figure out the results together, which will sharpen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Utilizing Vernier sensors not only enhances students' proficiency in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects but also offers them hands-on experience with scientific instruments.

Using these sensors isn't just about learning science—it's also about getting comfortable with tools and technology. We'll use them to measure things like the power output of devices and how efficient they are, learning about things like resistance, voltage, and current along the way. This practical approach helps us understand electrical circuits and how power works in a way that's easier to grasp.

Plus, we'll dive into topics like energy conservation, our carbon footprint, and sustainable practices. By studying renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines, we'll see how they stack up against traditional methods and explore ways to make a positive impact on the environment. Overall, bringing these tools into my classroom not only makes learning more engaging but also sets them up to tackle big challenges and make a difference in the world.
