Having the Nintendo switch, calculators, stem projects and building materials in our classrooms has allowed our students the opportunity to come together, join teams and teach each other skills that we would not have been able to learn otherwise. \r\n We have used the calculators to help within our Menu Math competitions, which allow the students to become familiar and comfortable using calculators, since it will be a daily life skill for the students. Using the calculators has also allowed our students the ability to properly name money and cents when answering questions. They have become comfortable and confident in their ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide while using the calculator. \r\n We have used the Nintendo Switch to allow our students the chance to develop friendships through shared interests. It has also allowed the students to share different strategies and viewpoints which has then increased their self-confidence. The students have also improved in their ability to come together and share their ideas during our daily time in the classrooms. \r\n The building blocks and Stem projects have allowed our students to problem solve and experience frustration, which has then led to new viewpoints and thought processes to enhance their learning.
