Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Exploring one's environment is an essential aspect of learning and personal growth. As a teacher, I am committed to fostering curiosity and a love of learning in my students by encouraging them to explore their surroundings.

When students use a microscope and microscope slides to examine the world around them, they can discover new details and patterns that they may have never noticed before.

They can see the intricate patterns on a butterfly wing or the tiny hairs on a leaf. This exploration can lead to questions about the natural world, and encourage students to learn more.

Exploring the microscopic world can help students develop important skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. By engaging in hands-on activities such as examining insects or plants, students are forced to think critically about what they are seeing and how it relates to their environment. They also learn to problem-solve by figuring out the best way to observe or collect specimens.

By encouraging my students to examine the small and often overlooked aspects of their environment, I want to help cultivate their curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of connection to the natural world.

No matter how old you get, may you always stop to fill your pockets with smooth stones, empty snail shells, and other little treasures.
