Help me give my students access to children's books that help them to understand that all emotions are acceptable.

My Students

My students come from a variety of cultures, and each brings uniqueness, although this can sometimes create barriers to traditional and conventional teaching. Despite the challenges they face, they are still energetic, fun-loving, and eager to learn.

The students we serve are eager to learn and trust in knowing we will provide them with as much love as possible.

My kids are awesome, funny, and happy students who work together to build a great community. I am the ambassador of their education and want to make sure they have lasting memories of their academic years.

My Project

Babies are born with no understanding of emotions. They learn by looking at and reacting to what their role models show and tell them. As children grow and begin to socialize they gain a better understanding of the world around them, what makes them happy, what makes them sad and what causes some unknown feelings.

Oftentimes, my youngest students have a difficult time understanding and processing emotions.

The prolonged pandemic has made it even more challenging for some. They express anger through tears, hitting and avoidance of work and peers.

These books will help me to address some everyday feelings that they have. With simple wording and colorful illustrations, I can share these stories with all students in K-5.

The additional items in this project, include conversation starters, journals and positivity cards. Each of these can be used a strategy to help students process unwanted feelings.
